About the Event

The Lessons Across Faith: Encountering Our Neighbors’ Traditions series is brought to you by the Center for Interfaith Collaboration and in partnership with interfaith organizations in the MetroWest area.

For the first three weeks of November 2024, religious communities throughout the area will host open group discussions about the book My Neighbor’s Faith: Stories of Interreligious Encounter, Growth, and Transformation compiled by the Rev. Jennifer Howe Peace, Rabbi Or Rose, and the Rev. Gregory Mobley. Each congregation/community can determine the day of the week and time that works best for them, and participants from any faith background or none can sign up to attend the group of their choosing during registration. These interfaith groups will be capped at 10 members each to allow time for meaningful conversation and relationship building.

The final gathering will include all who have participated in the series over the prior weeks and will meet on Sunday, November 24, from 4pm - 6pm at the Center for Interfaith Collaboration (CIC) located at 130 Newton Street, Weston, MA 02493. Participants will have the opportunity to share their own stories in groups and enjoy light refreshments.

This series offers your congregation a unique opportunity to play a vital role in fostering interfaith understanding and community building. By hosting a discussion group, you'll open your doors to curious and open-minded individuals from diverse backgrounds, showcasing your community's commitment to dialogue and mutual respect. It's a chance to demonstrate leadership in promoting religious literacy and to strengthen your congregation's ties with the broader community.

Ready to make a difference? If your congregation is interested in hosting a group, please fill out this form to register your participation and let us know who will be moderating your group. Hosting is simple, rewarding, and a powerful way to contribute to interfaith harmony.

Have questions about what hosting entails or need more information? Don't hesitate to reach out to our CIC director, Zach Roe. Together, we can create spaces for meaningful interfaith encounters and foster a more understanding community!
